The Story Behind Our Hebrew Collection

There are seasons in life that only make sense when we look back.

For me, one of those seasons began during the pandemic.

Like many people, life suddenly became quieter. There were fewer places to go, fewer distractions, and more time to learn something new. During that time, I decided to study the basics of the Hebrew language. It started simply—with the Hebrew alphabet. I remember carefully writing each letter, learning how it was pronounced, and practising how to write it by hand.

What began as curiosity soon became something I genuinely loved.

I purchased books and learning materials to help me study. Then I bought my very first Hebrew Bible—the Tanakh, the Scriptures of the Old Testament in their original language. Opening those pages for the first time was unlike anything I had experienced before.

As I slowly learned to read the text in its original language, I discovered what felt like gold nuggets hidden within an immeasurable treasure field. Familiar passages came alive with greater depth and beauty. I began to appreciate the richness of God’s Word in ways I had never imagined.

The more I studied, the more I saw the majesty of God revealed through the Hebrew Scriptures. Every word seemed carefully woven with meaning. Every name, every phrase, every pattern pointed me back to the character and faithfulness of the Lord.

Of course, life continued. There were weeks—and even months—when work, family, ministry, and other responsibilities meant I couldn’t study as much as I wanted. But the affection never disappeared. Every time I returned to Hebrew, it felt like coming home to a well that had never run dry.

At the time, I thought learning Hebrew was simply my own idea.

Now I realise it was never merely my plan.

It was God’s.

By His grace, what little I have humbly learned has allowed me to share with others, including my discipleship group. Those moments have reminded me that knowledge is never meant to end with us. The Lord often teaches us so that we may encourage and serve His people.

Looking back now, I also see His providence in another unexpected way.

The Hebrew Collection at PS23 is not just a clothing collection. It is a reflection of a journey God began years before I ever imagined starting this brand. What once seemed like a personal hobby has become part of the story God was writing all along.

Each design in this collection is more than Hebrew lettering. It represents timeless biblical truths preserved in the language through which God first revealed much of His Word. Whether it is Shalom (Peace), Emunah (Faith), Chesed (Steadfast Love), Tikvah (Hope), or another biblical word, each design is an invitation to remember the beauty, depth, and faithfulness of God.

Our prayer is that these pieces do more than start conversations. We pray they encourage hearts, point people toward Christ, and remind us that God’s Word is living, enduring, and worthy of being treasured.

If this collection helps even one person become curious enough to open the Scriptures, then every hour spent learning those first Hebrew letters was worth it.
